Welcome, welcome! Yes, I enjoyed Rings of Power! Of course there were things I didn't like or was confused by, but there was also so much that I enjoyed and appreciated. And the second season looks to be doing all the right things from the previews!
Yes, the haters were supremely loud, but I think you're right: more people who watched enjoyed it than hated it. Glad to have you join us here: please share your thoughts as the season goes along!
Happy birthday! I hope you get lots of fireworks and no one forces you to make a speech (but if you do, just keep magic ring in your pocket so you can disappear if need be). And I'm also here for more Tolkien creators talking about The Rings of Power. I'm planning on doing reviews too and I can't wait for the interesting conversations that are going to spring up with each episode!
Thank you, Breanne! I'll keep that magic ring trick handy juuust in case of a dreaded speech lol
And yes! More creators talking about The Rings of Power, please! So glad to hear you'll be contributing too via Substack. Looking forward to reading those and participating in the discussion!
"We shall be watching your career with great interest." No really, as a struggling Tolkien blogger myself trying to figure out how to discuss RoP and involve everyone who follows me across all platforms, I'll be interested in seeing how you cover the episodes on a week-by-week basis.
Happy belated birthday! 🎉 My kids and I are so excited for season 2. Yes season 1 had some issues, but being immersed in Middle Earth again for 8 hours?? I can't wait for more.
BTW, I always wondered why the leather bound version of The Hobbit is green and The Lord of the Rings is dark red. Never heard of the Red Book of Westmarch?
I enjoyed season 1 of ROP. To the extent that I had criticisms, they were more about general storytelling trends I dislike (keeping one character's true identity secret from the audience is generally a bad idea, and they did it twice!) than canon issues (which is sort of nonsensical anyways, since the actual established "canon" here is thin and the rest is a collection of drafts and scattered thoughts published posthumously). Anyways, I'm looking forward to season 2!
Glad to find people who enjoy ROP! I think its haters were a small but loud group who drowned out the dialogue on it.

Thanks for the welcome! Will do 🙌
Best wishes on your birthday! Also thanks for the free e-book, though I’d rather have had the silver spoons…

Happy birthday! I'd love a free month if possible. Thank you so much for your generosity! Really looking forward to reading your books.

Many thanks for the ebook! I will enjoy it greatly I am sure! Thanks
Haven’t seen any of this yet!
